Exciting Senior Living Events in Denver
There’s always something happening at The Argyle, especially when there’s a holiday or occasion to celebrate! Every month, we pick a new theme to guide the events and activities that fill our special events calendar.
These festivities reinforce some of our most important values, like community, camaraderie, and cheer. Now that spring is underway we wanted to share a glimpse into these special moments. There’s a lot to celebrate during this time of the year, so read on to see how our group of Denver seniors celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, and other seasonal festivities.
Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day and Mardi Gras
St. Patrick’s Day is a big hit in March — each year, we bring in Irish dancers for a show that has everyone tapping along to the beat. Mardi Gras is another holiday we never miss. This year, the cooking club made their own crunchy Mardi Gras Rolo treats.
Easter and spring celebrations for Denver seniors
During spring residents and staff alike love the emphasis on Easter and all-things related to the new season. To see what’s on the agenda next, take a look at our special events calendar. You’ll see a variety of fun events and activities that perfectly celebrate every season. Some all-time spring favorites include:
- Farm animal fun. Nothing says, “It’s finally spring!” like a visit from adorable farm animals, especially when the lambs come to play.
- Seasonal crafts. Our seniors love crafting, so we try to include lots of options for creativity. Bright accordion eggs, finger painted dandelions, spring-themed paint by numbers, an Easter-themed card club, jelly bean necklaces, and more are all on the schedule.
- Social hour. Any event with cocktails is well-attended, so we make sure to host regular social hours where residents can mingle.
- Family nights. These monthly evenings provide a wonderful way for families to support each other. They’re also a fun way for families and friends to spend time with their loved ones.
How we plan events and activities at The Argyle
People of all ages thrive when they’re involved and feel a sense of purpose, so we encourage residents to help with the planning and execution of gatherings. Resident volunteer committees help us decorate the information boards throughout the building, fold monthly calendars, plan which restaurants we’ll visit during outings, help us pick movies for movie night, and so much more.
Making senior living exciting and fulfilling is an important part of what we do here at The Argyle. When a resident wants to share their passion with the community, we find a way to make it happen.
As a local nonprofit, The Argyle has brought high quality and affordable care to Denver’s seniors since 1874. To this day, our caring team remains committed to encouraging independence and preserving the dignity of every resident who calls our community home.
