Senior Living in Denver
The Argyle is located in the Berkeley/Highlands neighborhood of Denver where seniors and their families have easy access to the area’s open parks, unique shops, excellent dining, and more.
There’s so much to do in our part of Denver, and here’s our neighborhood guide to active, healthy and fun activities for the young at heart.
Visit the historic Elitch Theater
Residents of The Argyle are fortunate to have this piece of Denver history less than a half mile from our community.
Restoration of the Elitch Theater is ongoing, but events are occasionally held in the beautiful theater. Visitors can also enjoy gazing upon the lovely facade of the building, which is even more special if you attended a show during the theater’s heyday.
To learn more about upcoming events, visit the theater’s website at https://historicelitchtheatre.org/.
Take a stroll around César Chávez Park
This neighborhood park is also 0.5 miles away from The Argyle. It’s a great place for people watching, strolling around, or for some quiet time in nature. It’s also popular amongst families with children, and you’ll often see kids enjoying the playground.
With its location off Tennyson Street, many people like to stop by César Chávez Park to relax before or after dining at one of the area’s many great restaurants.
Dine at one of Tennyson Street’s top-notch restaurants
Anyone who enjoys trying new and tasty food will love the Highlands, particularly Tennyson Street which is only a few short blocks from The Argyle.
No matter what type of food is your favorite, you’re sure to find something mouth-watering along Tennyson. Try the Denver Biscuit Company, a perennially popular spot serving delicious and creative biscuits (and if you have visiting grandchildren, they’ll love this one). Or, perhaps you’d like to enjoy a coffee or tea and a snack while visiting César Chávez Park. In that case, stop by Allegro Coffee’s Flagship Roastery & Cafe. Both of these establishments (and many others) are easy to find and located within short walking distance (a half mile or less) from The Argyle.
How seniors can enjoy the best of Denver
There are so many things for seniors to do throughout Denver, including museums, the zoo, shopping, and theaters. However, they can be challenging to access without transportation.
At some senior living communities, like The Argyle, transportation to organized events is an included amenity. We strive to make it easy for our residents to enjoy everything Denver has to offer, which is why our calendar is packed with events like visits to the Denver Art Museum, local restaurants, Broncos outings, fall foliage trips, and more. You can see what type of special events and activities we have planned in The Argyle Events calendar.
If transportation is becoming a hindrance to getting out and doing what you love, this may be a key consideration in finding the right senior living community. Be sure to find out about the neighborhood, range of events, activities, and transportation options that are available so that you can best enjoy Denver for years to come.
As a local nonprofit, The Argyle has brought high quality and affordable care to Denver’s seniors since 1874. To this day, our caring team remains committed to encouraging independence and preserving the dignity of every resident who calls our community home.
